  1. How does this work?

    Where do you place the alligator clip and where do you place the probe?

    1. When using the spark plug tester, clip the alligator clip to the vehicle ground, the
      frame or engine, then start the engine. Starting at the distributor and
      working your way to the sparkplug, you put the probe around one of the plug wires and
      the light will flash every time the spark plug fires unless the wire is bad then it
      will stop flashing.

  2. Does this work on 6Volt systems?

    I see a red wire which implies this device needs to get power from some source. Can that source be 6V or does it need to be 12V?

    1. This Spark Plug Wire Tester draws its power for the electric going through the spark plug wire. Tester will flash in sync with spark plug firing until it runs across a break in wire. It requires no other power source.
