  1. can this pump be dead headed

    1. Per the manufacturer, do not restrict the flow through the pump by closing the discharge valve or creating a "starved" suction line, as this can cause harmful heat buildup. If you need to restrict the flow for more than five minutes, you should either stop the pump or install a discharge bypass line to ensure that liquid temperatures remain below the maximum recommended operating limits. For complete details, please refer to the manual.
