Why are you unable to sharpen a left-handed blade, wouldn't you just be pulling it across the stone in the opposite direction?
-
SnowPro1· 7 years ago
It has to do with the motor height adjustment shaft getting in the way.

This will not work on a left handed blade as it would hit the center body support of the motor.

What is the total height adjustment of the wheel?

The total height adjustment of the grinder is 1-3/4”. This measurement was determined by lowering the grinder head as far down as it can physically be adjusted and then raised to the maximum point of adjustment.

since the motor dosen't reverse, how do you sharpen both sides of the blade (left and right)?
1 answer-
ProductExpert35· 13 years ago
To determine if the blade that you intend to sharpen is a right handed or left handed blade do the following steps:
* Lie the blade on a flat surface in front of you, grass side down against the flat surface.
*As you look at the blade, stand so that it is lying directly away from you.
*If the cutting edge on the far end is on the right, it is a right handed blade. If the cutting edge on the far end is on the left, it is a left handed blade and should not be sharpened on this grinder.
The grinder should be used for right handed blades only.Helpful?
