  1. How is the table or grinding wheel adjusted for grinding the correct cutting angle on a mower blade?

    1. its the position of the blade when making contact with the wheel the determines the cutting angle. use a speed square to find your30 degrees and then mark it with permanent marker or etch it in if you can and then always follow that angle with the blade when sharpening.

  2. Why are you unable to sharpen a left-handed blade, wouldn't you just be pulling it across the stone in the opposite direction?

    1. It has to do with the motor height adjustment shaft getting in the way.

    2. This will not work on a left handed blade as it would hit the center body support of the motor.

    1. The grit collector item number 161503 (model number 88-033) is sold separately.

  4. What is the total height adjustment of the wheel?

    1. The total height adjustment of the grinder is 1-3/4”. This measurement was determined by lowering the grinder head as far down as it can physically be adjusted and then raised to the maximum point of adjustment.

  5. since the motor dosen't reverse, how do you sharpen both sides of the blade (left and right)?

    1. To determine if the blade that you intend to sharpen is a right handed or left handed blade do the following steps:
      * Lie the blade on a flat surface in front of you, grass side down against the flat surface.
      *As you look at the blade, stand so that it is lying directly away from you.
      *If the cutting edge on the far end is on the right, it is a right handed blade. If the cutting edge on the far end is on the left, it is a left handed blade and should not be sharpened on this grinder.
      The grinder should be used for right handed blades only.

  6. 8" grinding wheel part number?

    I have an Oregon 88-019 grinder and I need a new
    grinding wheel. Can't find a part number.
