  1. Is there an adjustment to compensate for wear of the grinding wheel?

    1. The adjustment for the wear of the grinding wheel is in the adjustment for aligning the wheel to your chain. You are not going to grind the wheel down enough in a chain, or even a few chains, to necessitate compensating strictly for the wear of the wheel.

    2. The Oregon Bench/Wall Chain Sharpener does not have an adjustment to compensate for grinding wheel wear. Please see product recommendations below for replacement wheels.

    3. there is not an adjustment for compensation for wheel wear on the 410-120. per the manufacture of the grinder, when the grinding wheel reaches a minimum diameter of approximately 105 mm, it is time to replace the wheel

    1. Yes. There is a table with the settings for both ripping and chisel chains in the operator manual.

  3. In regards to the sharpener able to sharpen 1/4 to .404 chains with the stones provided, my question is regarding is the stone sizes?

    Ive always used a hand file - i have a 49" bar .404 .63 logging chain (10degrees, 10 degrees) - is a stone appropriate sized included, or are just the common stone wheels provided - In other words, will I have to search out the right sized stone wheel for my .404 .63 chain independently and purchase it separate?

    1. The Wheels that are included with the 410-120 are as follows:
      OR534-18 - this is for 1/4" 3/8 "low profile
      OR534-316 - this is for .325 ,3/8 , .404
      OR534-14 - this is for depth gauges only

  5. What is difference between 520-120 and 410-120 Oregon Sharpeners.

    1. Item 48269 (model 410-120) has a max RPM of 3500 and is rated for 140 watts, while item 47084 (model 520-120) has a max RPM of 2400 and is rated for 300 watts.

  7. Does the vise jaws on 410-120 works with the length of 8" chain for 3/8?

    1. This item is capable of sharpening a chain from an 8” bar. The manufacturer does not have the exact measurements, but the vise on the grinder is approximately 10-11” long, and a chain of that size is probably about 2 feet long overall. There should not be any issues with using the grinder for that length of chain.

  8. Will this sharpen 5/32 to 7/32 chain

    1. The grinder includes three grinding wheels for sharpening 1/4", 3/8" Low Profile, .325", 3/8", .404" , 3/4" pitch chain and depth gauge grinding, a dressing brick and a quick template. It will work to sharpen 7/32" chain. You will use a 3/16" stone.
