  1. Will it sweep/collect from hard-surfaces like driveways?

    1. I have a 3/4 mile long asphalt drive & I have adjusted the depth to allow it sweep my Bermuda grass clippings. It does a good job but I'm afraid that will cause the brushes to wear down too quickly so I don't elect to do it often. I just grit and bear my backpack blower.

    6. This sweeper can be used to sweep driveways. The brush height would need to be adjusted and sweeping on hard surfaces, like a driveway will wear out the brushes faster than using just for grass sweeping.

    1. yes but don't take very short turns

    3. It will but you cannot turn as sharply as it turns without trailing item. Arc will be much sharper than regular rider

  3. Will this lawn sweeper work well for pine needles and pine cones?

    1. I don't have pine cones or needles but I have pecans and the tiny acorns. It does well with both. My neighbor has a different brand lawn sweeper and his does very well with pine cones and needles so I feel sure this one will as well.

    1. Yes. It works well for picking up grass clippings, but not so good for picking up small sticks. A straight design brush would work better for small sticks.

  6. Reverse Operation?

    To dump this sweeper we will need to back into position. Will backing up with the sweeper cause problems for the gears or broom?

    1. No problem. I do mow the grass to the area where I dump to keep from picking up tall dead grass in the sweeper but backing the sweeper is no problem

    2. This Ohio Steel lawn sweeper will not have the gears engaged while backing. Backing up with the sweeper will not affect the gears.

    1. Yes, it does a good job picking up clippings, not so much on small sticks though.
