    1. The tank cannot be buried or partially buried. It is for above ground use only.

  7. How do you know how much water is in it

    1. To check the water level, remove the lid and visually inspect the water level. For more precise measurements, a stick gauge, a float gauge, a sidewall gauge, or an electronic smart gauge can be installed. The gauge would be sold separately.

  8. What is the minimum temperature? I am thinking about winter, would I need to empty the tank? Also, would you recommend setting it directly on the ground or use a stand for clearance?

    1. The Norwesco 1550-gallon tank itself has no minimum temperature rating, you must empty it for the winter in freezing climates to prevent the water from expanding and damaging the tank fittings. You should set the tank directly on the ground, provided the ground is properly prepared to be flat and smooth.

  9. Can the tank be turned on its side to transport while empty?

    1. It is not recommended to transport the tank on its side, even when empty.

  10. Is there an inlet or exit? It has only one port. What parts, part numbers, are required to put a port in the vertical side?

    1. The inlet port is 1.5 inches female NPT and the outlet port is 2 inches female NPT. The top vented opening is 16 inches in diameter. We do not advise placing any additional ports in the tank. Any modifications to this unit would void the warranty.
