To change the tine direction on this NorTrac harrow rake you remove the pulling bar and mount it on the other end of the rake. Flip the harrow rake over to use it as a drag without the tines.

Simply remove the pulling bar and put it on the other end. Turn the unit upside down to use as a drag without engaging the tines

This harrow does not need to be stored flat. To a degree it can be rolled but will be unsteady on end. I store mine hanging on the back of a shed, out of sight.

Would you recommend this to remove "rocks" from a field?
What would you recommend to remove annoying rocks that dull cutting blades and break spindles?
-
Chuck211· 8 years ago
No, it will ride over most rocks or push loose stones aside.
Helpful?
-
NorTracExperts· 9 years ago
This is not recommended for removing rocks. The use of a box blade and a landscape rake would work well.

Will this rake up sticks?
My yard is littered each spring with pine limbs. They vary in size from 1/4" to 2" thick, all lengths. My only reason for buying this would be to rake up these sticks and other small rubbish. Can anybody tell me if this is a good product for this reason only. If I have to go over several times it is not worth it. Or if you can recommend something that would do this beyond a 3 point large type rake. Thanks.

Fsarge· 8 years ago
This isn't a rake so much as a tool to break and level surfaces, like a field garden in the fall or a stone/gravel driveway.

NorTracExpert11· 9 years ago
This harrow rake is most effective when used to clean up larger foliage (longer sticks, leaves, etc.). It may not work well for pine needles or shorter sticks and branches due to their smaller size. Click the links below to view lawn sweepers which can be used to sweep/pick up pine needles and sticks or smaller branches.

How is drag secured to pull bar ( carabiner clips??)
-
Bob8541· 9 years ago
The ring is permantly attached to the two linkages going to the drag bar. The linkages then hook on to the drag bar.
The chain mat is connected by inserting a rod , weaving it through the chain and drag bar.
It's pretty easy to put together.

NorTracExpert13· 9 years ago
The wire of the drag is made so that it has hooks that are connected directly to the pull bar.
