    1. This unit uses bottom gate dispensing.

  2. will the spreader broadcast when tractor is driven in reverse ?

    1. Driving the tractor in reverse does not change the PTO rotation, so the spreader will still operate normally. If the PTO were to rotate in reverse, the spreader would not work correctly because the vanes are designed for standard rotation only.

    1. This spreader is designed to spread seed and other granular items. It would not be recommended for spreading compost, especially if there is any moisture.

    1. The top diameter of the hopper is 39", the bottom diameter is 8" and it measures 28" tall.

    1. It is an all purpose spreader, designed for use with seeds and fertilizer mainly. It could be used for salt, but may not last as long if used for salt, as all parts are not made of stainless steel.
