    2. This NorthStar unit comes with one high pressure 25 degree nozzle and one soap nozzle. We do offer a 3 piece set with a 0, 15, 40 degree nozzles.

  2. Is the pump permenently lubricated or does the oil need to be changed occasionally?

    1. Hi,
      I change my oil at the end of each season. Not sure if I need to but it's cheap and does not take much to fill.

    2. The pump oil on this NorthStar pressure washer should be changed after the first 50 hours of use and then should be changed every 500 hours or every 3 months.

  3. Does the engine on this unit have a compression release for easier pull starting?

    1. Automatic. Pressure does not appear to build whatsoever during starting pulls. Fortunately you'll usually be able to get the engine online after only one or two.

  4. I have 4 quick-connect nozzles from a 2400 PSI, 2.2 GPM pressure washer. Is it OK to use these nozzles with this more powerful unit if they fit?

  5. will I be able to powerwash a two story house?

    What nozzle do you recommend for me to reach the second story of my house?

    1. depends on what you are shooting the water with? Using an xjet it could send a stream over 30' high with just water and 25' shooting soap mixture

  6. Enough PSI for homeowner driveway/patio cleaning?

    I've heard that 3000psi is desired to clean concrete surfaces, but would this pressure washer be enough? It's the ideal size and in my price range, unlike the higher powered units. Would only be used occasionally in a homeowner fashion.

    1. It will have more than enough power. If you get them to big, they are hard to move and the pressure wand will almost knock you down. I think the secret to any power washer is to put the chemical on (black nozzle) and let it set a few minutes, then put the presser noozzle on and rinse. Also, when you get the larger pressure washer, the motor size is bigger and harder to start.

    2. Yes, this machine is capable of washing a variety of surfaces. With a lower psi machine you may have to hold the tip closer to the surface being cleaned on the stubborn spots. Also a great addition to this pressure washer to increase cleaning capability is a turbo nozzle. See link below for more details.

  7. Can I run this unit from a gravity fed water tank?

    If not what Honda cold water units would work?

    1. Any pressure washer can be run from a gravity fed tank as long you have 1 GPM more coming into the pump than going out. If the gravity fed tank being used with this pressure washer is 3.5 GPM or more it will work. The volume must also be constant. Damage will occur to the pump if it is starved of enough water.

  8. what kind of "cleaning chemicals" are needed for this pressure washer? Doesn't specify. Need something special??? Thanks,Eileen

    1. This NorthStar Pressure Washer will pick up cleaning solution through the pick up hose when the black low pressure nozzle is used. Any safe cleaning chemical can be used as long as it is not too thick to be pulled into the system. Northern Tool does carry various types of Monster Labs cleaners.

  9. Orifice size of nozzle tips.

    I just purchased one of these units and it came with only two nozzles. I'd like to buy one of the 5 piece nozzle sets, but am wondering what size nozzle fits this 2800 psi, 2.5 gpm washer.
