    1. The model (41/2") I purchased several years ago has an adjustable tab that pushes the on/off switch down or off when the cut is finished. Very simple and works every time.

    I need to make Horizontal cuts on 1/8'' thick 4 3/4'' x 4 3/4'' Hollow -Square tube aluminum. Would this saw accommodate this size? or is 4 1/2'' the max limit on height?

    1. This metal cutting band saw can handle schedule 40 round stock up to 4-1/2" diameter. To cut entirely through 6" round stock, you'll have to make a second cut after rotating the pipe 180 degrees after making the first cut.

    1. This metal cutting band saw comes with a 3/4 HP motor. Northern doesn't carry a 1 HP motor that's compatible with this saw. For a 3/4 HP replacement motor, please call Northern's Parts department at 1-800-222-5381 for price and availability. The Parts department is open 7am-6pm, Central time Monday-Friday and 8am-2pm on Saturdays.
