It doesn't take watts to run the inverter. It takes Direct Current Volts (12v) to run the inverter. Your normal everyday 12 volt DC car battery is a perfect example. The inverter takes in 12 volts DC and puts out up to 2000 watts. It has a USB port that usually puts out 5Volts at 0.50Amps, which would be 2.5 watts. It also has 3 regular plugs like in your home that puts out between 110 volts AC and 120 volts AC. If you plug a microwave oven in one plug, that will use 1200 watts. You'll have 800 watts left. An LED TV 40 inch uses about 50 watts, you'll have 750 watts left. If you plug your laptop in the 3rd plug, that'll use about 50 watts, you'll have about 700 watts left! Most space heaters and air conditioning window units use 1500 watts. Most electronics like phones and PlayStations use about 3 watts. 2000 watts is too much for a small user. 2000 watts is good if you have a major appliance you need to run. Good luck!!!
