Yes, this unit is able to be converted to natural gas, but to do so you would need to purchase a conversion kit. We offer this same heater, but it is already set up to operate on natural gas, the part number for this heater is F180624.

Where is the thermostat located? If it is on the heater can a remote one be added?

The thermostat is included with the heater. Should be mounted eye level on the opposite wall from the heater. Standard 2 wire doorbell wire works well.
