  1. Does this product produce a gas smell in garage while in use? I’m sensitive to that and it causes headaches. This product seems to be what I’m looking for, but I would like to know if it puts out strong diesel/ gas smell? 

    1. No issues with strong fuel smell. you smell it a little when it first starts that it it. Awesome product for the garage.

    2. These types of heaters will product an exhaust odor. The exhaust odor can be mitigated by using a more refines fuel such as a kerosene #1 instead of #2, or diesel #1 instead of #2. Exhaust odors can also be controlled by having adequate ventilation in the room to allow exhaust fumes to exit the room and fresh air to enter. It is recommended to have at least 2 square feet of a ventilation opening at both the floor level and near the ceiling.

  2. Does this heater shoot any flames? I know that some of the older heaters shot out flames. Just curious.

    1. Flames should not come out the front of the heater; however, there may be a small flicker occasionally which would not be a concern.

  3. DOES THIS HEATER RAISE YOUR LIGHT BILL

    1. The blower would have a low CFM rating and may slightly raise your electric bill, if used a lot.

  4. can you switch back and forth from using kerosene to diesel? if you do use diesel does it produce a gassy or smokey smell in the air?

    1. Recommended for use with No.1-K kerosene fuel. Factory tested
      for use with No.2-K kerosene, No.1 or No.2 Diesel, No.1 or No.2
      fuel oil or JP8 Jet A fuel. Smoking may occur with the use of diesel.

  5. how do you start one of these heaters? Does it need to be plugged in to electricity?

    1. Turn thermostat to lowest setting, make sure switch is “Off”. Plug the heater into a grounded 115V outlet. Turn thermostat to highest setting. Start heater by pushing toggle switch to “On” position (light signifies switch is in “ON” position). Adjust thermostat to desired setting.
