    5. I would not think so. Moles are blind and tend to migrate away from vibration, which is the principle this item works on. Chipmunks are curious and would most likely be attracted to it.

  2. How high should the mole wind mole cheaser be?

    1. I put it on top of a 10' length of 1/2" galvanized pipe that I have driven 2' into the ground. This puts it high enough that there are no worries about anything interfering with the blades.

    2. I used an 8 ft galvanized pipe inserted into rebar that I pounded at least a foot into the ground. Works great.

    3. Use a 8 foot metal pipe. I put it in the ground so that the windmill is above your head. You do not want someone walking into it when it is turning. At least a foot down, deeper is ideal. The noise of the ball bearing in the windmill is what keeps the gophers away.

  3. Use of Windmill

    I used this in Virginia and loved the results in keep voles and moles out of yard.

    .Do you think this will keep birds away from small fruit trees? Also do you think the sound might keep snakes and other crawing spinders at bay?

    2. The birds, rabbit's, deer soon become use to them and are not bothered by the windmills. Fortunately they do work well for the gophers and voles in this area. I live on 10 acres and have surrounded my back yard with eight of them about 15 apart from each other to make a wind mill fence to keep the little burrowing suckers from eating the roots of our tree's and bushes. 8 foot fence took care of the deer eating the fruit trees. Birds love to perch on them and dine on the fruit. We have dwarf fruit tree's so we can throw garden netting over the trees to protect the fruit.
