  1. Is this gauge comparable to the snapon gauge used to check compression on motorcycles?

    1. I have not used it on a motorcycle but has the capacity and fittings for almost anything

    2. This Mityvac Compression Test Kit has a gauge that measures up to 300 PSI and includes 4 hoses and 4 adapters to fit any engine. This compression test kit would compare to Snap On and many other brands.

  2. Will this test compression on marine outboards?

    1. I don't know why not. I used my on my snowmobiles and I compared it to a Snap On Compression tester and they both read identical. Way cheaper that Snap On with the same results.

    2. According to the manufacturer, the Mityvac Compression Test Kit will work with gas-powered marine engines, as long as it uses a standard size spark plug. The kit comes with 10, 12, 14, and 18mm fittings that should cover most engines.

  3. Where are the check valves located?

    I purchased a cheap compression tester and the check valve is located just before the gauge. This adds volume and results in a lower compression pressure value. Therefore, I want to know if the check valve is located at the end of the adapter hose screwed into the spark plug hole (best location), or is it near the gauge?
