The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor delivers up to 1200ft.-lbs of Fastening Torque and 1600ft.-lbs of Nut-Busting Torque when paired with the M18 REDLITHIUM FORGE Batteries, while the compact size at 7.6in. in length gives users greater access in tight spaces. The M18 FUEL 1/2” High Torque Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring maximizes productivity on the jobsite and in the shop by removing stubborn bolts and fasteners faster than cordless competitors. The patented battery isolation system provides a secure battery connection and controls vibration transmitted to the pack. Tri-LEDs surround the anvil to deliver brighter light with fewer shadows. 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL offers greater precision with a range of pre-set RPM and IPM levels, selectable from a single button on the tool. By selecting Mode 4 AUTO SHUT-OFF control applies no more than 50ft.-lbs of torque for hand-tight fastening applications to prevent overtightening. Mode 4 also features Bolt Removal Control that delivers users full torque output, then decreases RPMs once the bolt is loosened to prevent fastener drops. The 1/2” Friction Ring design allows for quick tool-free socket changes.

    1. Mode 1 is 0-700 RPM and 0-1300 IPM. Fastening and nut busting torque up to 650 ft lbs. Mode 2 is 0-1300 RPM and 0-2200 IPM. Fastening and nut busting torque up to 900 ft lbs. Mode 3 is 0-2000 RPM and 0-2200 IPM. Fastening torque is 0-1100 ft lbs. with XC5.0 Ah battery. Nut busting torque is up to 1500 ft lbs. with the XC5.0 Ah battery. In mode 4 FWD is 0-900. REV is 0-2000/0-750 RPM and 0-2400 RPM. Fastening torque is up to 50 ft lbs. and nut busting torque is up to 1500 ft lbs. depending on battery used.

  9. What does it mean my friction ring ? How does it compare to the ones that don’t have it

    1. The friction ring is a component of the anvil assembly that holds the socket into place. This will be a ring installed into the groove at the end of the anvil. It will compress when the socket is attached. The compression will then create tension that will keep the socket secured when in use.
