The black portion of the batter near the lower third of the body has molded lines that you pinch and squeeze between forefinger and thumb then firmly pull down away from the tool. The battery releases and comes out. To charge, orient the longest part of the charging end with the contacts towards the top, or deepest part of the charger socket and firmly push the battery into the socket. The light will start flashing red when it makes contact. If the light isn’t flashing, you are not all the way in. Check the orientation of the battery and reinsert the contact end, pushing firmly until the light begins to flash. When it glows a solid green, (red on some models) the battery is charged fully. I have gotten thousands of charges on these batteries and they still go strong lasting all day in our busy shop.
