  1. Will this opener work for dual gates?

    We have two 8 ft metal gates, In other words both have to be opened for wide vehicles.

    1. Yes it can. But you have to have two openers. Both openers settings have to be set alike. This is easy to do. For the gates to work properly you would have to install a short post for the gates to close on or install stops on the posts. Your best bet would be to look at a double closure package. You can do it your self, but I would get a couple of quotes to see if it is worth having some one else installing it.

    2. This Mighty Mule gate opener is for single swing gates up to 16'. Please see my recommendation below.

  2. Does this kit have everything needed for installation?

    1. Everything is included in the kit if your gate is opening inward... not outward. If outward, you need an additional bracket.

    2. Yes, this system works where there is no electricity. The solar panel will keep your battery charged and the battery operates the gate opener.

  4. Can the gate be opened with the remote or keypad and left open until later, when once again the keypad or remote can be used to close the gate?

    1. The gate can be opened with the remote and be left open until the remote is pushed to close with auto close set to off. It has an auto close timer that can set from off to 120 seconds.The factory setting is off.

  5. When the gate is closed, is it locked? Can it be manually opened?

    1. This Mighty Mule gate opener will hold the gate shut It does not lock the gate shut. To manually open the gate you would disconnect the power and pull the pin at the base of the opener and pull the gate open.There is an optional pin lock available, That would be Northern Tool item number 34668 (see below).

  6. What battery do I have to buy

    1. This solar package does not include the 12 volt battery. It can be purchased locally. Any automotive or marine deep cycle battery will work.

    1. The transmitters come in the regular sized one and the smaller key-chain model. Item numbers 34663 and 34665. See items below.

  8. I am looking for a solar gate system that will allow access without transmitters or keypads. Can you use 2 wireless gate openers with this sytem?

    1. Yes, you may use 2 wireless gate openers with this system.
      We carry a vehicle gate-opening sensor and a wireless opening sensor. See my recommendation below.

  9. Is there a keypad that can be added?

    I was wondering if there was the option to add a keypad at the gate to allow guests in, etc. Also, if that is possible, is it easy to change the code, etc.
