  1. Can this unit run off of a 110 outlet? Or, is it battery powered. If battery powered, how does the battery recharge other than solar?

    1. it can run off 110, if you can get a wire from the house to the unit or it can be solar powered but use the 15 amp solar panel

    2. The 12 volt deep cycle marine battery or automotive battery is required to power the gate opener and can be recharged with AC power or a solar panel. AC uses a low voltage wire and a transformer connected into a 110 outlet.

  2. Can this be set up to operate only one pannel?

    We have a double 16' gate set and really only want to open one side for daily use, yet still be able to open both pannels when needed.

    1. Single gate operation is not possible. This gate opener would open both sides.

  3. Will it prevent the gate from being pushed open by someone on foot?

    I want to make sure that it will secure the lot entrance from foot traffic.

    1. It will not prevent the gate from being pushed open, Mighty Mule does offer a lock that works with all Mighty Mule gate openers, see option below.

  4. What are the electrical requirements for this? Amps? etc.

    1. The system is powered by a 12 Vdc, 7.0 Ah, sealed, rechargeable acid battery. Battery charge is maintained by a 120 Vac, 18 Vac output transformer rectified to 14.5 Vdc (20 VA) through the GTO control board. One (1) blade-style control board fuse rated for 25 A.

  5. Does FM502-CNV come with built in software for autoprogramming?

    1. The gate opener does not have a software program built in. The keypad and transmitter can be programmed for different codes.
