This Meyer Tailgate Spreader is easy to use and perfect for small- and medium-sized jobs like walkways, long driveways and small parking lots. The in-cab two-speed controller lets you stay warm while you make adjustments. It is easily attached to any SUV, light pickup, tractor and utility vehicle with a 2in. receiver hitch. An integrated motor guard protects the 1/8 HP electric motor and serves as a storage stand when the spreader is not in use. U.S.A.

    1. The overall dimensions are 30" L x 26" W x 41" H for this spreader.

    1. The spreader has not been tested for grass seed or oats. Per the manufacturer, it should be able to spread any dry, small granular, free flowing material.

    1. This model does not vibrate. A vibrate kit is available to purchase directly through the manufacturer.

  4. Is this a 2x2" trailer hitch mount? How many yards of salt will this hold? Can I also put sand in it?

    1. A cubic yard of salt is around 2000 pounds, this holds 400 pounds. Sand should not be used in this spreader, rock salt only.

  5. How long is the control wires

    1. Two lengths of wire are included. A 96" wire runs from the controller to the battery and a 222" wire runs from the controller to the auger motor.

  6. Can this spreader be used to spread Lime & Fertilzer? Also can the amount of material be set? In other words can you control how much product is broadcast other that speed of truck. I am asking can you manually set the volume coming out the discharge?

    1. The spreader cannot be used to spread lime or fertilizer. You would not be able to manually set the volume of flow. It would depend on the speed of the vehicle.

    1. This model is not suitable for calcium chloride pellets. Please see spreader item# 38094 for one that is compatible.

    1. This tailgate spreader does have a hitch assembly and pin to secure the spreader to a pickup truck, or other vehicle, equipped with a 2" receiver hitch.

    1. There is not one discharge rate. The discharge rate depends on the material being spread and the speed of the vehicle.
