Yes they lock the rotation as well as the roll. Usually you can get away with just locking 2 wheels.

Can the swivel be locked on your Metaltech Heavy-Duty Caster with Foot Brake — 8In., Model# M-MBC8 so it will not rotate?
It looks to have teeth that will lock it in place.

Applying the brake on this caster will lock both the swiveling and rolling action of the wheel. Also a pig tail lock (item #405951) shown below should be inserted through the hole in the shaft to prevent the caster shaft from turning inside the scaffold tube.

Hi Frankcm, thank you for your question. Yes the brake on the M-MBC8 caster lock both the rolling and swivelling actions of the wheel. You will also need to use a "Pig Tail" lock http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200442276_200442276 or a nut and bolt through the hole in the shaft, in order to lock the caster shaft from turning inside the scaffold tube.

Are these a soft rubber type wheel or harder like plastic?
I have casters currently that are a harder material that leave indents in the floor when rolled around. Looking for something softer.

I have only used on concrete surface but wheels appear to be poly and I should be none marking although I can imagine that they might leave slight indention in linoleum.

What is the sttandard diameter measurement of the wheel?
Can these wheels be gathered with a threaded stem, either 1x21 or 5 x21 threads, on One and 1/4" length stem?

This wheel measures 8" in diameter. These casters are not available with 1/4" long stems that are threaded. They are secured to the scaffolding with a locking pin that fits through the stem.

I need 50 of 8" Scaffold Casters with brakes and the diameter shaft needs to be 1-1/4 inch in diameter?

Will these casters match my others for height of the scaffold frame off the floor? What height off floor will they hold the scaffold?

This caster is designed to be used with Metaltech Scaffolding. The caster is 13.5 inches in height. These are the same casters that are used on Metaltech SAFERSTACK Complete Tower Scaffolding System; Item # 218601.
