Product Summary

Treat your chickens with this free-range style coop, designed to hold up to 12 chickens. Included with this unit is 8 nesting boxes in two stacked rows, with a tall hallway for roosting. The coop is lifted off the ground to protect the chickens from predators, the cold ground, and make accessing the interior. The pull-out trays help for cleaning out the coop. The coop is intended to be used within an open range, and features wheels to move it around a spacious run. The entire unit is made from quality Canadian Hemlock, and will grace your backyard for a long time.

  1. What size; meaning how many panels, is sufficient chicken tractor for 12 chickens?

    1. This is very small for 12 grown chickens. If you want 12 chickens plan on getting something that fits 20 (you’ll end up with 20 trust me). We build an 8 x 8 chicken house (7 feet tall) and it’s tight with 25 chickens

    2. The dimensions for the chicken coop are 53.54" : x 31.1" W x 42.76" H and 53" H with the wheels. It would have 6 panels for the building, 4 panels for the roof, it would include the frame, the brackets, the nesting boxes and the ramp. The ramp has 6 panels. It is designed for up to 12 chickens.

  2. How long are the roosting bars?

    1. Keep in mind chickens need 12” of roosting space per chicken.

  3. How well would it do in cold weather? I'm in MN

    1. The cold weather would not affect the chicken coop. The chickens can handle the lower temperatures in a draft free shelter and if they are acclimated to the cold and are well fed.
