question about item # 189383
When putting hub on axel do I need to drill for a cotter pin on the inside of the hub location to avoid the hub from moving inward and rubbing against the cart? I guess I could use flat washers on the inside of the hub on the axel to avoid this problem I have experinced with the original wheels.
Thank you-

I cut the correct length off a piece of PVC conduit/pipe to use as a spacer.

No holes should be drilled in the hub of this tire. It is not set up for this. Maybe drill a hole in the axle for the cotter pin and use a washer or two on the inside. There are also locking collars that use a set screw that can be purchased to achieve this purpose without any drilling.

I don't understand what is meant by flat free? Is this a pneumatic tire, is there a "tube" inside? I need the 3/4 inch bore, is tire of hard rubber?
-
Hoovie· 14 years ago
It's a hard rubber tire - no tube inside.

A pneumatic tire will have a tube filled with air. A flat free tire is a solid polyurethane that has the bounce and feel of an air or pneumatic tire but never goes flat. This tire has a 3/4" inch bore and would work good for you.

Is the wheel plastic or some type of carbon fiber? I am concerned about standing up to hauling loads through the woods.

They are hard rubber, do not give with hand pressure. I have just used them around the yard and cement garage floors, no bad noise.

This is a hard rubber tire. It would not be very easy to mash by hand.

bearing size?
Hi,
I see that the wheel comes with 3/4 bearings installed. It also comes with extra 5/8 bearings. I'm wondering if there are 1" bearings that would fit in the hub of this wheel. If so can you give me details?
Thanks,
TJ

Dimensions of bearings
What is the bearing type and number used in this wheel.
Alternativly can you give me the O.D., I.D. and width of the bearings.
Thanks for your help.1 answer-
ProductExpert10· 11 years ago
The manufacture does not list a bearing type or number. Alternatively, the OD of the bearing measures 1.384" and the ID measures 3/4". Included also is a 5/8" ID bearing to fit a 5/8" axle.
