  4. I’d like to find out what grit each of these compounds is. I want to use them on the cloth wheel on my bench grinder to sharpen my kitchen knives.

    1. The Green polish is used for stainless steel, has a gloss finish. The Brown polish is for general use on all metal, medium grit. The Black polish is for coarse use. The White polish is for glossy finish for aluminum and aluminum alloy.

  5. What progression would you use to go from coarse to finest when sharpening tools?

    1. The polishing compounds will be used from the most coarse to the finest. Black emery would be the most course. This is used for cutting and removing scratches. Brown Tripoli will be for general purpose use applications. This will remove scratches and and provide a smooth finish. White diamond will provide a light level of cutting and provide a brilliant shine. Red ruby will be used for high polish applications.
