  1. How do you clean this air filter?

    1. Disassemble, clean w/soapy water, rinse & let it air dry.

    2. There are no cleaning instructions available on how to clean the actual filter section. It is recommended to clean the air filter bowl with soap and warm water.

  2. Do you have any manuals on how to service and clean Klutch water separator?

    1. Before dismantling the unit, exhaust the air in the line completely.

      To clean the filter element and bowl, unscrew the threaded bowl guard by turning it counterclockwise. Disassemble the components and clean the filter element by blowing it out with compressed air. Clean the bowl using soap and water or a neutral detergent.

      Lift the bowl guard upward and pull down the locking piece. Turn the bowl guard 45° and pull it down to remove it.

      Inspect the O-rings and other parts for damage. Replace any damaged components if necessary, or clean and reuse them if they are in good condition.

      Apply general-purpose grease to the O-rings and to the surface of the housing where the O-ring seats. Reassemble all components.

      Screw the threaded bowl guard on to the housing. Position the top flange lug portion of the bowl guard to the corresponding slots in the housing. Push the bowl guard fully into the housing. Turn the bowl guard by 45° until the locking piece enters into the housing slot fully.

  3. I notice that there is threads in the bottom of the drain valve, is there a way to add a piece of tubing to the drain?

    1. The drain bottom has an M5 thread. A tube can be attached as long as it matches the thread.

  4. Does this filter have to be level? I have a Makita 2 Gallon quiet compressor and the outlet is at an angle, maybe 30 degrees. Thanks

    1. This filter should be mounted level, not at an angle.

  5. I am putting this filter on a pancake compressor that is mounted on a bracket on a wall Please advise on the semi automatic draining feature. When the compressor is turned off is the drain feature going to drain water on to the floor?

    1. The semi-auto drain is similar to a check valve; it is closed when pressure is applied and opens when pressure is removed. The drain automatically opens when the liquid in the bowl reaches a certain level. You would open the drain valve to remove the water, place a pan below the valve to catch the water to avoid it draining onto the floor.

    1. This air filter has a drain valve that is made of plastic. The drain valve threads onto a metal fitting with a plastic washer and a rubber seal in between them.

  8. How do you install this filter?

    1. This air filter attaches to the outlet port on your compressor. This filter has both 1/4" NPT female inlet and outlet ports. The air hose then attaches to the outlet port on the filter.
