  1. how much horsepower does the king cutter model #l-48-40-xb require

    1. I've used a 48inch rotary cuttery on a subcompact 24hp New Holland tractor (tractor fits into the back of a pickup) The cutter worked very well. The only issue is that we needed to add some balast to the front of the tractor.

    2. The rotary cutter is for a category 1 tractor which would fit on up to a 45 HP tractor. It does require 540 RPM on the PTO to engage the mower.

  2. Does this have a standard PTO Spline and 3 Point Hitch attachment?

    1. The PTO shaft will be a 1 3/8" x 6 spline. The rotary kutter will work with a category one pin size.

  3. What type of oil goes in the gearbox?

    1. Fill the gearbox using a multi purpose gear oil (SAE 80W/90 or SAE 85W140). For the grease fittings use a type grade II tube grease.
