I have the 2.5 gal can and find it very difficult to hold the cap open while filling. Is there a way to lock the lid open until it is filled with fuel?

This gas can will be stored in an un-heated garage, temperatures ranging from 0F to 100F. Will this can be able to withstand the thermal pressure changes without deforming or leaking? My plastic gas cans deform, crack, and leak under these conditions.

For Justrite Safety Cans, you will want to be sure to take safety steps to avoid pressure. You will want to burp your safety can to relieve the pressure and avoid forming a vacuum. I have linked an article on it for more information: https://www.justrite.com/news/tips-for-using-justrite-safety-cans-outside/?srsltid=AfmBOoqJ3tws1x13PHui7JEnMG6WGKtuAd8-szhqjy6IxZZAkAA30SK0

I have an Justrite 7225120 AccuFlow 2.5 Gallon. The "Safe-squeeze trigger" will no longer open the flow valve. The rod connecting the trigger with the rubber gasket seems to be frozen. I have tried penetrating oil but it is still stuck. Any suggestions?

I have an 8 years old Justrite 7225120 AccuFlow 2.5 Gallon can. "Safe-squeeze trigger" when released is no longer stopping the flow completely like when it was new. Is a replacement kit I can purchase to fix the valve?

Can I use any color of safety can for gas?
1 answerOriginally posted on Justrite-
Anonymous· 5 years ago
No. OSHA requires flammables with a flash point below 80 degrees F (27 degress C) be in a red colored can with a yellow band. Typical industry convention is red = gasoline, yellow = diesel, blue = kerosene, and green = oil.

Do I need to practice grounding and bonding while transferring flammable liquids from a safety can into smaller glass or metal container?
1 answerOriginally posted on Justrite-
Anonymous· 5 years ago
We always recommend bonding and grounding safety cans while dispensing, to prevent the buildup of statuc electricity. Static electricity is the formation of electrical charge which carries the risk of creating a spark. Attach anti-static wires with clips at each end to the safety can, the receiving container and a grounding point. These connections will ensure that any charge buildup dissipates to ground before generating a spark. Additionally, OSHA 1910.106(e)(6)(ii) satates you must ground and bond all containers of luiqids with a flashpoint of 100 F or less - though the flexible nozzle of a Type II safety can does serve as an effective bonding connection.
