  4. I am considering this for artistic blacksmith work.  I’ll want to use it in vertical mode to make lengthwise cuts in 1 1/4 square stock of mild steel (low carbon).  Is the 1/2 HP motor powerfull enough for that?

    1. The lowest blade speed is 80 SFPM. That is square feet per minute.

  6. what starter capacitor is on this half horse motor

    1. This band saw does not have a starter capacitor. It has an inverter that converts the motor to a DC brushed motor. It would have a brushless motor.
