My HEAVY industrial Jet 8” grinder doesn’t even seem to make this top heavy or wobbly. If you were really wailing on your work, then sure, bolt it down. That said, I did use it several times to clean up some welds and ugly cut joints on steel before I bolted it to the floor and had no problems at all. It’s a very nice, heavy, and stable stand. Certainly the best ones I’ve ever bought.

Will this stand accomadate a 10 inch grinder with a bolt pattern of about 8 X 9 inches?

It has several ways to bolt it in, so probably will work for most grinders. I had to drill two holes in the mounting plate of my second stand to work with my drill press, but that was easy enough. Even if you need to drill a hole or two this is one great, heavy, stable stand and by far the best I’ve ever bought.

what is the minimum mount-hole footprint this stand accomodates?
I'm looking to mount a vise with mounting holes in a square pattern that are 4 13/16" apart.
