Product Summary

JB Weld Clear Silicone Sealant and Adhesive is a general purpose sealant adhesive, RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanized) silicone designed for use in household or mechanical assembly applications. Upon curing, which occurs when the product is exposed to the moisture in air, the silicone forms a tough, waterproof, mildew and mold resistant seal on most surfaces. It will not shrink or crack and resists weathering. It is also sensor safe and ideal for many household and automotive applications.

  1. Can this product be used in a place where it will be in contact with drinking water? Can it be used to seal a crack in a water bottle for instance

    1. The silicone sealant is an RTV silicone that is not safe for use with products used for food consumption.

  2. Can this be used to seal the lens on an underwater pool light?

    1. The silicone sealant is water proof. The silicone would need to be applied on a dry prepped surface.

  3. Can this be used INSIDE a dryer to secure a baffle in place?

    1. The sealant could not be used inside a dryer.

  4. Will this bond a glass tube to a pvc fitting?

    1. This is a standard acetoxy silicone, it would not be recommended for this application. JB Weld does not have a bond material suitable for bonding glass to PVC fittings.

  5. I backed up from inside garage with my hatch up, and now have a separation of plastic hatch and clips so it has been "fixed" at a shop by pushing it down ($80), but it still leaks to inside after carwash. Would this product suffice to fill in the gaps?
