This Ironton® 500-Lb. Utility Cart with rounded corners is made of heavy-duty, maintenance-free structural foam that will not dent, rust or chip. It is scratch resistant and can be cleaned with common cleaning products. Three 2.75in. deep trays help secure loads. Extra pockets and bins provide hardware storage, and the cup holder is the perfect place to put your coffee. The removable rod below the handle is ideal for stretching packing material, tape or paper towels and more. 5in. nonmarring casters (2 swivel, 2 fixed) roll easily for smooth transport around your shop, garage or warehouse. Each tray holds 166.6 lbs., for a total capacity of 500 lbs. This cart provides plenty of cargo space, but is still narrow enough to fit through most doorways. 46 3/5in.W x 25 2/5in.D x 32 7/10in.H

  1. What is the clearance space between the shelves?

    Specifically what is the measurement from the top lip of the bottom, shelf to the bottom of the second shelf?
    Also is it the same for both shelf openings?

    1. The opening between the top and center shelf measures 7.75 inches, and the opening between the center and bottom shelf measures 7.5 inches.

    2. It measures approximately 7-3/4" from the top lip of the bottom shelf to the bottom of the middle shelf and 7-1/2" from the top lip of the middle shelf to the bottom of the top shelf.

  2. Can the casters be swapped for locking ones

    What type of caster mount - post or plate?

    1. They are plate mounted with 4 bolts each.

    2. Northern Tool does not sell replacement locking casters for this unit at this time. It is possible to change the casters on this unit however doing so is not recommended as it may affect the weight capacity.
