  1. what bottle does this hook too ?

    1. I hooked to a standard propane tank. no problems

      Helpful?

    2. 20lb propane tank

      Helpful?

    3. 20# propane tank

      Helpful?

    4. Will hook up to any normal LP tank such as the 20 # LP tank. Any thing smaller than this would be sort of a joke. It is a high end 500,000 BTU torch and the difference is like the MPG on a lawn mower engine and a big block chevy hot rod.

      Helpful?

    5. This propane torch will attach to any 20 pound propane cylinder. I will list one possibility below.

      Helpful?

  2. Does this come with a hose to connect to the tank?

    1. Yes

      Helpful?

    2. Yes ready to go

      Helpful?

    3. Yes, the hose will connect directly to a 20 Pound tank using a 1" wrench

      Helpful?

    4. YES comes with a nice handy very long hose. Unlike so many products sold with 24" hoses and 12 inch electric cords. Their not saving production dollars on the hose. The connection with built in regulator works on any std LP tank with out the use of a expensive gas regulator. Recommend do not open LP tank wide open seems to work better that way.

      Helpful?

    5. This comes with a six foot hose that will connect to a standard BBQ propane tank.

      Helpful?

  3. Will I have to remove the safety valve on my 20lb tank, or will this connect directly to it?

    1. hooked directly to my standard propane tank. no changes required

      Helpful?

    2. directly to it

      Helpful?

    3. Connects directly to your tank as is.

      Helpful?

    4. You do not need to remove the safety valve on the tank. The torch will connect directly to it.

      Helpful?

  4. Do I need to use a regulator in order to hook up the IdealGas Propane Torch Kit - 500,000 BTU, Model# 171726 directly to a 20 pound propane tank?

    1. Out of the box I attached to a 20lb propane bottle

      Helpful?

    2. There is a small adjustment knob on the torch that allows it to be used without a regulator. Be aware that a small adjustment of this valve goes a long way.

      Helpful?

    3. The torch would not require a regulator. It has a control on the top of the handle to control the flame.

      Helpful?

  5. Can more than one be connected to a 20lb tank?

Also how much coverage width is the flame?

    1. Only one at a time.

      Helpful?

    2. It is not recommended to have more than 1 torch kit connected to the propane tank. A flame width is not available, the inside diameter of the torch head is 2.25 inches.

      Helpful?

  6. Does it come with a striker?

    1. No it doesn't.

      Helpful?

    2. This product does not come with a striker. My Product Recommendation below offers an automatic igniter.

      Helpful?

  7. Does this product have a Push Button Igniter

    1. No it doesn't.

      Helpful?

    2. This IdealGas Propane Torch Kit is not equipped with a piezo ignition.

      Helpful?

  8. Is there a replacement hose available?

    1 answer

    1. Replacement parts would be available through the manufacturer.

      Helpful?

  9. Is torch made in China ???

    1 answer

    1. The torch is made in Italy.

      Helpful?

  10. is there a 12' hose extension or an 18' hose available for this torch kit?

    1 answer

    1. At this time, Northern Tool does not supply an extension hose for this unit. Please see item 29201 for a similar unit that has a 32' hose.
