  1. How easy is it to adjust the height with drill press on?

    I can't tell if it is a crank to adjust the height or if I have to manually raise/lower it and the handle is just a locking mechanism. If I have to manually raise/lower I would not call that easily adjustable when there is an 80 pound drill press on it.

    1. The "crank handle" is a locking mechanism only. The rectangular shaft that slides up and down the stand tube is wedge shaped (narrower at the bottom, wider at the top) so that as you crank the handle out slowly, the top will lower slowly. But yes, with 80 pounds of weight on the top of the stand you will need to jack the top up from below or rig up a rope and pulley system or a chainfall to raise your load from overhead. Probably best to determine the proper height of the table for your application before you put heavy load on it.

    2. The crank is to tighten or loosen the wedge lock. To adjust the height the stand should be empty. Loosen the wedge lock and manually adjust the height of the stand and tighten the wedge lock.

  2. What is the measurement of the base?

    Looking to put it on the Ironton Universal Mobile Base Dolly Frame which measures 18 1/4" at the smallest measurement.

    1. The measurement of the base will be 18.25" x 15.75".

  3. Can castors be added?

    I have very limited space so I need to move my drill press to storage and pull it out when I need it. Can I easily replace the feet with castors?

    1. Northern Tool does not currently offer casters for this stand. Change to the design of the stand may void the manufacturer's warranty.
