  1. What type of electrical connections are on meter? Posts , spades, etc.? Is there a back view so that I can see the type of retaining bracket?

    1. The connectors are spade. Bracket just slips over back of meter and presses tight against the back of the dash like a big washer. Meter has teeth into which bracket locks.

    2. Back terminals are 1/4" spade. 2" diameter of body is threaded, so you slide the meter in from the front, and snug up the plastic locknut from the back side.

    3. This hour meter comes with 2 electrical posts. It's easy to hook up. You need a ground wire and a positive wire from the ignition switch.

  2. Is the back fastening bracket metal or plastic?

    1. Plastic.

    2. It's plastic, but I've had mine on my lawn tractor for 2 years now, and it's held up just fine.

    1. Nope. Just 2.

  4. Require battery to work?

    I want to use this on a pull start log splitter with no battery. Will it work?

    1. I am running this hour meter on my generator, but generator has 12VDC cigarette plug. I spliced into the supply side of the cigarette plug, so when the generator is running, the hour meter is powered.

      As long as you log splitter will generate 12VDC when running, you should be fine.

    2. The hour meter requires some sort of DC voltage between 12 and 72 in order to operate.
