The DC Charging Cord does not feature any type of monitoring system to protect from an over charge. The DC charging output on your generator is not regulated. To find out if your battery is fully charged, you will want to check it by using a voltmeter.

I want to run Honda 3000 overnight at campsite & use 12 volt output to charge my boat trolling battery all night, will it harm my battery ?
To put so many Amos into a 12 volt battery without a regulator or monitor to drop amp to a trickle as battery becomes fully charged?
How will I know when battery is fully charged?

The 12V output on the EU3000is is designed to provide unregulated charging of a standard auto/truck battery. You must monitor the charging status of the battery using a voltmeter, load testing device, etc. For maximum charge, run the EU3000is with Eco Throttle OFF, so the generator is putting out the strongest charge possible. That said, you would be better off to just use a 120V charger for the battery and plug it into the 120V AC outlet of the generator. That way, the charger controls the process, as most are automatic, and you can probably run the generator with Eco Throttle ON to save fuel and run quieter. The charger will also charge the battery much faster that the 12V DC outlet. -Robert@Honda

What is an Inverter generator in comparison to a regular generator

The inverter generator runs quieter than the regular generator. It has a more even electrical current to your appliances. It also throttles the engine up and down so it is not running at full speed the whole time and produces lower emissions.
