There are two forms of chromium: chromium-6 (hexavalent) and chromium-3 (trivalent). Chromium-6 is the type associated with health concerns, while chromium-3 is widely used in leather tanning because it offers the needed performance with far fewer risks. These gloves are tanned using only chromium-3, and no chromium-6 is used.
