  1. I use this for patio heater in California. It is not directly exposed to rain but to humidity and dew in morning. We want to cover when not in use. Do you have a cover for this unit to reduce exposure to outdoors??

    1. The heater is for indoor use only. There is no cover available for it.

  2. How do you start tge pilot light

    1. You would set the thermostat to the off position, wait 5 minutes to allow any gas to escape that may have accumulated, then turn the know to pilot. Using a match, light the pilot light. See page E6 of the product manual on our web.

  3. Does this heater require electricity?

    1. Yes, the Heatstar High-Intensity Infrared Natural Gas Heater (Model F180629) does require electricity for its spark ignition system. It comes with a 120V/24VAC/40VA transformer. This means you'll need an electrical connection to operate the ignition and control systems.

  6. What is the clearance requirement from the ceiling to the top of the heater and from the heater to the floor?

    1. This heater requires a minimum of 40" from the top of the heater to the ceiling and a minimum of 84" from the bottom of the heater to the floor.

  7. Are these heaters able to be connected to each other, with the same thermostat

    1. This heater cannot be connected to another heater with the same thermostat. It has to be operated by its own thermostat like item 16342 shown below.

    1. This heater cannot be converted to propane. HeatStar does offer some slightly larger heaters that run off of propane which I will list below.
