Thank you for your question. On the G1033X, the manufacture date can be found on the upper dust cover. Look for the specification sticker, which includes a QR code next to the serial number and manufacture date.

Thank you for reaching out. A spiral cutterhead uses small square or rectangular carbide inserts arranged in rows around the cutterhead. Each insert is typically aligned straight across the head and engages the wood all at once per row. A helical cutterhead also uses carbide inserts, but they are mounted at a slight angle and arranged in a true helical (wraparound) pattern. This creates a shearing cut rather than a straight chop.

Larger machines like this one are generally less prone to snipe than smaller units, thanks to their heavier construction and longer infeed and outfeed support. Proper setup and feeding technique will further minimize any chance of snipe.
