  1. How do I remove frame to replace front lens cover?

    Manual states 'lift up on the tab at the bottom of the outer frame to unsnap the frame and access the lens cover'. The problem is there is no 'tab' at the bottom of the frame. There is a small half-moon opening that looks like it was intended to provide a purchase for prying. I tried prying here with coin but it won't budge, just deforms the plastic frame. I don't want to break it!

    1. You will need to push in the two flanges that are located on top of the model number and then open the half moon tab in order to replace the lens.

  2. Is this battery or solar powered?

    I have one that's totally solar, looking for one that I can just snap a battery in and go. Takes too long to solar charge, and I don't weld every day. So is it battery or solar or both?

    1. This helmet uses solar power with a small internal battery which holds the electricity to provide the power collected. It does not have the kind of battery you can buy and insert in the helmet for instant power.

  3. Size concern and level of darkening

    I wear a 2XL motorcycle helmet and also 2XL Stetson style hats. Can this be adjusted to fit my really big head?

    Is #13 Dark enough? In welding class we were cautioned to never use less than #14 welder's glass when arc welding.

    1. This Grip Auto Darkening Welding Helmet does not have sizing listed. It can be adjusted to a maximum circumference of approximately 24 1/2".

      A shade #14 is recommended if welding with an arc welder using more than 250 amps. Shade 9-13 will cover most welding scenarios.
