This GPI Heavy-Duty Oil Pump features a gerotor gear design and durable, lightweight cast aluminum housing. The rugged 115-volt AC motor delivers flow rates up to 16 QPM (4 GPM) and is engineered for long life and limited maintenance. The GPI L5116 oil pump is ideal for use with new oil (up to 90 wt.), hydraulic fluid and antifreeze. Consider the viscosity of the fluid and temperature range when choosing the oil pump for your application.

  1. Can this pump be used with DC or is there a DC version. manual shows in electrical specs a DC power specs as well as AC specs.

  2. Can I use this pump outdoor mounted on a truck?

    1. This pump can be used outdoors, however it cannot be permanently left outside. It should be protected from the elements.

  3. will this work on 15/40 oil? And can a metered nozzle be added ?

    1. This pump is compatible with automotive oil up to 90wt. 15/40 oil can be used. Item 83741 can be added for a metered nozzle.

  4. Would it be alright to restrict the flow by 50% ( 2 gpm) while adding up to 10 gallons of synthetic transmission fluid? Is there an inline meter that would work best for this application?

    1. We do not recommend restricting the flow rate for any application.

  5. does this pump have a pressure switch to turn the motor off when the valve is closed?

    1. This pump will need to be shut off manually after the valve has been closed.

  6. can you leave pump on and just use the control valve?

    trying to see whether you have to turn the pump on every time you want to use or if you can leave it on and just use the recommended control gun to basically turn it on and off

    1. It is recommended to turn the switch off and disconnect from power when the pump is not in use.

    1. This pump is designed for use with motor oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil and waste oil. Please view item 57129 for a diesel pump.

  8. I need to pump waste oil down to -20F. Suction up 5 feet and push about 20 feet. is this the pump or do you have another one that will do this?

    1. This model is designed to operate in temperatures rated from 20 degrees F to 125 degrees F, depending on the viscosity of the oil. The suction lift is 10 feet and 15 feet up from pump. At this time, we do not offer a pump for the application described.
