  1. Can you shut the discharge hose off while the engine is running and pumping? Example: pumping water from a tank to water flower pots. Can the discharge hose be shut off while walking from pot to pot?

    1. It is not recommended to shut off flow to the discharge while the pump is running. Back pressure will cause the pump to fail over time.

    does a 1" suction port and discharge port mean that a typical garden hose will fit the ports?
