Product Summary

Glideforce linear actuator controller kit is designed to control two LD-ACME model linear actuators. Keypad pushbuttons provide precise manual control of the actuator and are used to program the control unit for up to 3 preset actuator positions. Once programmed, the linear actuator will move to any of the 3 programmed positions with the press of a button. An LED light located above each pushbutton indicates the current programmed position of the linear actuator.

  1. Can this controller kit be used with any linear actuators? Like basic ones with only a +/- connection

    1. No, the actuator must have a feed-back encoder.

    2. The quick answer to your question is "no". Take a look at the pdf wiring drawing for the controller and you'll see 5 wires going to the actuator; red, black, blue, green and yellow. Red/black are the power wires, the other 3 wires are the position encoder that tells the controller what the position of the actuator is. Without that position signal the controller can't control the actuator. The importer, Concentric International, does sell some actuators that have the encoder, but none of them are in Northern Tools lineup.

  2. If using this to control 2 actuators, can you control each actuator separate, or does it control the 2 at the same time?

    1. This controller can be programmed to control two actuators individually, in sequence, or simultaneously.

  3. How long is the wiring harness, both of them.

    1. The wiring harness is 39" long on both sets.

  4. This Controller has 3 presets? Is that a total of 3 or 3 per actuator?

    1. The Controller Kit will provide 3 presets per actuator. This is shown in the manual at the link I have provided below.

  5. How can I use a 12v actuator with a timer

    I want to control a 12 volt actuator to fully open and fully close at set times using a 12 volt timer.

    1. If you are able to provide a momentary signal to open and another momentary signal to close through the remote inputs on the linear actuator controller it would be possible to use the actuator with a timer.

  6. Can you adjust to actuator with controller or just go to preset settings with this controller.   In other words, have your presets and then adjust to another length with same controller without loosing presets.

    1. Info in manual says you can do this. The presets are selected by 1 button and to advance the unit forward you push two buttons and retract. The presets are done using just one button. So yes you can select the preset then move forward beyond the preset without losing the preset.
