It is not recommended to lie the reel on the ground. The reel will require that it be mounted to the wall. When retracting the hose, you first will need to unlock the hose by a small tug and release the force. The hose then will start to retract. It is recommended to gently retract the hose. If this is not done with caution, it may damage the hose reel or nozzle.
