  1. Can you use the 50 amp model#:MA24-N with a lower amp rated generator (30 amp), want for backup?

    I wish to plan for an upgrade next year.
    I want to purchase/use the MA24-N.
    In the mean time, and also for a backup, I want to use a lower rated generator (30 amp) now, and have ability to install bigger later.
    I know there is a MA23-N, but do not want to pay to upgrade unless necessary. if not, can you explain or provide link with details. - Thank you

    1. You would not be able to use the 30 amp generator on the 50 amp transfer switch. The plugs would not match and there is no adapter for this.

    20ft cord is not long enough. is there a longer cord?

    1. A longer cord for the transfer switch is available from the manufacturer. They offer up to a 100 ft. cord in 20 ft. increments.

  5. Is there a power cord included and what is the nema configuration?

    1. This Generlink switch comes with a 20' cord. When ordered the manufacturer contacts the customer to determine what plug is needed.

  6. I have a generator with 30 amp out, can I use on this 50 amp transfer switch, or stay with the 30 amp transfer switch?

    1. If the generator is rated for 30 amps, the 30 amp transfer switch should be used.

  8. is the connection waterproof for rain?

    if the meter is not covered on the side of a wall will water driven by rain get into the connection plug?
