    is this generator safe to run high efficiency furnaces

    1. This Generac XP6500E Portable Generator produces less than 5% total harmonic distortion, so it is safe to run with sensitive equipment. We recommend contacting the manufacturer of your furnace to determine if this generator would work for your application.

Generac’s XP6500E, and all XP Series units, feature our True Power Technology, where automatic voltage regulation regulates the output voltage to <5%, making the units compatible with most sensitive electronics. Moreover, the unit features an AC output rating of 6500 running watts, along with a 54.2 rated amperage at 120v, and 27 amps at 240v. If you are unsure of whether or not the items you intend to run are a sensitive item, we would recommend contacting the manufacturer to determine any specifications or restrictions for use with a portable generator.
