Generac Automatic Transfer Switches are designed for use with single phase generators that utilize Evolution or Nexus Controllers. The 100, 200 and 400 amp open transition switches are available in single phase in both service equipment rated and non-service equipment rated configurations. The 150 and 300 amp open transition switches are only available in a service rated equipment configuration.

  1. How is this different from the Generac RXSW400A3.

    1. Both the Model# RXSW400A3 and Model# RTSR400A3 are 200 Amp, Single Phase, 120/240V units. Model# RTSR400A3 is the transfer switch only and Model# RXSW400A3 is the transfer switch and the main service disconnect.

  3. Does it come with or accept dual/teardrop lugs on the shore power side of the transfer switch?

    1. The model RTSR400A3 features screw terminal lugs for securing the electrical connections. This will allow dual lug connections on both line and load sides.

  4. What is the difference between the RTSR400A3 and the RTSW400A3 /

    1. There is no difference in the 2 model numbers. They both are 400 amp, single phase automatic transfer switches that are service rated and are for use with generators that have an Evolution or Nexus controller. They are both service rated.

  6. I have 2-200 amp panels. Can I use this and split wiring between the 2 panels?

    1. As long as the Amperage provided by your utility company does not exceed 400 Amps, you can use this transfer switch to split power between the two breaker panels. Please note, this should be installed by a certified electrician.

  7. Does the 400 Amp unit have two (2) separate 200 disconnect switches or one (1) 400 amp switch?
