Product Summary

The Endurance Marine Tugger 2 ETUG2-FL26 is a unique upgrade 12V capstan winch designed to pull with consistent power and use almost unlimited lengths of line. Unlike a conventional drum winch that coils or spools a predetermined length of line on a drum, the Tugger 2 does not lose power because the line is continually bailed or taken off the capstan as the line is retrieved. A capstan winch is generally found in marine applications for lifting anchor lines but Endurance Marine has designed one to be used as a vehicle winch. The new ETUG features the moving fairlead which makes using your winch safer and easier. The fairlead moves in a 270° radius guiding the rope onto the capstan head eliminating the chance of the rope slipping off the capstan and relieving lateral strain on the system. This allows both horizontal and vertical pulling. The ETUG comes with and is operated by a foot switch allowing both hands free to bail the rope off the capstan. The ETUG2-FL26 has a 26ft. wire harness to work on all full-size pickup trucks.

  1. How long is the run and rest time? What is the service duty? Can a sheave pulley be used to double capacity?

    1. Run time: The Tugger 2 may be operated for no more than one minute at or near its 2,000‑lb rated load.

      Rest time: After a heavy pull, the motor must cool for several minutes until no longer hot to the touch before the next cycle.

      Service duty: The unit is rated for intermittent general‑duty service, not continuous‑duty or hoisting applications.

      Sheave pulley: A sheave may be used for line routing or mechanical advantage, but it does not increase the winch’s rated 2,000‑lb capacity.

  2. Does the winch operate in both directions to heave or let out?

    1. The Tugger Capstan Winch does not have an in or out. It would be for in only and has a foot pedal you use to pull the rope in. As it pulls in you would keep wrapping the rope around the winch. To let the rope out you would lift your fool off the pedal and let up on the tension and will let the rope out. The rope can be wrapped in either direction and there is no limit to size or length of rope that cam be used with it.
