  1. Must it ignited at every call for heat?

    1. Once the unit is on it will keep running until you shut it off or it runs out of oil. When it hits the temperature you want on the thermostat then it just switches into low mode. So you will always have a fire going.

  4. What is the maximum sq footage that this will heat in coordination w/ceiling height

    1. Our shop is three bays, 14 ' ceilings, and spread out plus office space. We move the air around with fans. When the wind comes up or the temperature goes below 20* we use additional propane heaters.

    2. There is no exact answer to this question. It is dependent on your location within the United States and how well your area is insulated. It will heat approximately 1200 square feel with a 9 foot ceiling.

  5. do you need a air compresser to run this unit?

    1. No this is an old fashion pan heater.

  6. Can you adjust how much heat oput there is therefore varying the amout of oil it burns?

    1. It has a thermostat that runs heater on low or high, I do not know what the oil usage is for each. It will use about 20 gallons in a 24 hour period if it has to run on high to maintain temperature.

    Will this burn unrefined crude oil with a gravity between 27-40?

    2. To burn crude oil in the waste oil heater, the oil will need to be well filtered. Being we are unfamiliar with this type of oil for the heater, the best test is to place some of the oil in a pan, put it outside, and try to light the oil. If the oil will burn, then this oil will also burn in the waste heater.

  10. How much Diesel fuel is needed to mix with synthetic oil to burn?

    I want to know how much diesel fuel to mix with Synthetic oil to be able to burn the synthetic oil in this heater.

    1. 10% diesel. I use 50% synthetic 50% hydraulic oil with no issues.

    2. Being this has not been tested with the waste oil heater, it is suggested to start with a 50/50 mix of diesel and synthetic oil for burning. To determine if this is burning appropriately, check the oil pan in the bottom of the heater for excess oil. More or less diesel could be used for a better burn.
