  1. does plastic and metal rings fit interchangably?

    1. The plastic and metal rings are not interchangeable on Eagle Drum Barrels. The drums are manufactured with a lip specific to the band style. Using the incompatible band will negate the DOT compliance.

  2. I've read that the drum is not suitable for free liquids. Would it be acceptable to use it as a soaking tub? I have to clean about 40 plastic gourds (bird houses) each year and I thought about soaking them for a while in the drum before cleaning.

    1. Eagle Manufacturing's straight sided 55 gallon drum is not DOT rated to hold free liquids.
