Poly Oily Waste Cans are constructed of high density polyethylene (HDPE) and offer fire safe temporary storage of solvent rags, waste rags, shavings and other materials subject to spontaneous combustion. Will not rust or dent, are resistant to most chemical compounds, have no seam for a leak proof construction, and feature self-closing lid with foot lever and with a flared base for added stability. Available in Red, Yellow or Black. FM Approved. 100 percent designed and manufactured in the USA.

Hello, while that is not the design intent of this product- as long as you confirm that however you decide to use this won't degrade the HDPE or void the warranty you are free to use it as you see fit. We make no guarantees on the safety features of the product if this is not used as intended.

    1. Our Oily Waste Can (model 933FL) is designed for temporary storage of solvent rags, waste rags, shavings and other materials subject to spontaneous combustion. This container does not have a fire rating. Oily Waste Cans help safeguard your facility by containing a fire long enough for someone to adequately respond and extinguish any contents. When used properly (emptied frequently, at least once per day per OSHA) the closed lid of the Oily Waste Can will rob oxygen from the contents, reducing the chance for spontaneous combustion.
